The 2050 Vision - making sure everyone is heard

The Gloucestershire 2050 Vision project could spark some great ideas that our county needs - so lets make sure we involve those who will be impacted by them the most.

The Liberal Democrat candidate for Tewkesbury Alex Hegenbarth says that, as a key theme is that the county is losing many of its young people to places such as London, Birmingham and Bristol, the consolation needs to do more to reach out to those 18 – 30 year olds who wold be tempted to leave the county.

Alex said “While there has been a lot of local media coverage about the consultation and some of the ideas that have been brought forward – I know the Super-City has caused a particularly vocal debate – not many younger residents have been encouraged to have their voices heard.”

“I hope those running the consultation will be doing more to actively reach out to schools and colleges to find out more about what pupils think about the current ideas and what ideas they would like to see discussed and debated in future consultations.”
