Local bank branches such as the Lloyds Bank in Bishops Cleeve are lifelines for many local businesses, voluntary groups and older residents. With the closure of both the NatWest branch in the village and of the Lloyds Bank branch in Winchcombe, rural residents have no alternative but to travel to Cheltenham or Tewkesbury if they need to speak to someone face-to-face about their banking needs. Banks are part of local communities and financial companies need to remember that.
Please join our campaign and help us save the Lloyds Bank branch in Bishops Cleeve.
"We the undersigned call upon the CEO of Lloyds Banking Group to reconsider the closure of the Bishop's Cleeve branch. This branch serves a local community and is particularly important for older people, local businesses and voluntary clubs and organisations. Following the closure of the Winchcombe branch there is no alternative except the trek into Cheltenham High Street. A mobile banking service is simply insufficient and Nat West in Bishops Cleeve has just closed. Banks must remember they serve the community as well as their shareholders."
