After the rise in crimes reported across the village, the Liberal Democrats are calling for more police funding and resources, including consultation on a permanent police presence in our village.
Alex Hegenbarth, Parliamentary candidate for the constituency (right), said “There are real local concerns about the lack of neighbourhood policing in the area and the impact this has on community safety.”
Building on local concerns, Liberal Democrats will support initiatives to increase the permanent police presence in Cleeve and hope to work with the Gloucestershire Constabulary to consult on the feasibility of a local police station as soon as possible. We realise police budgets are tight but we do need address this issue.
The Liberal Democrats have long argued for a reversal of damaging Conservative cuts to Police Funding and restoration of neighbourhood policing to help them provide the support our communities desperately need.
