The majority of voters in the Tewkesbury constituency would vote to remain in the EU, according to a new poll.
Respected pollsters Survation have found that over 52% of respondents in the Tewkesbury constituency would now vote to remain in the European Union.
Survation quizzed people across the country and found that in the majority of constituencies voters would now think again if another referendum was held.
Alex Hegenbarth, the Liberal Democrat Parliamentary candidate for Tewkesbury, is calling on local MP Laurence Robertson to take a step back from his Hard Brexit stance and do what's best for local residents.
"While Laurence Robertson and I are firmly on opposing sides of the Brexit debate, we both want what's best for Tewkesbury." Alex said.
"The new findings show that the Tewkesbury area has switched from Leave- to a Remain-supporting constituency, which further highlights the need for a People's Vote. The public should be able to have their say on what deal is right for Britain."
"Brexit will have a profound impact on local families and businesses across the area, which is why I will continue to campaign for the public to have their say on any final Brexit deal."
The survey showed that nationally 54% of people would now vote to remain in the European Union, with England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all backing to stay.
